My fitness journey
In my early 20’s I made the decision to take more care over my health and started to regularly attend fitness classes and the gym. I soon discovered running and joined a running group in Leicestershire. The support I discovered from training in a group was fabulous and this spurred me on to start entering events including half marathons, marathons, outdoor swimming events and triathlons.

Once I moved to Devon I discovered gig rowing which I fell in love with. Training and competing as a group on the water was amazing and I went on to compete in the Scillies Gig World Championships for 4 years.

In 2021 I completed the Iron2steel Iron distance triathlon event in South Devon. This was my biggest fitness achievement to date and I loved it. It taught me so much and made me realise what can be achieved through hard work, positivity and determination. The event team were so supportive and inclusive and on the day the support from the local community was amazing and helped so much.

My first love will always be running. Every run is an adventure into nature and whether running with friends or alone I feel the mental and physical health benefits are enormous.
